RV Life with DAISEE2 #78 Saturday, January 20, 2024

Good evening everyone. SO today we had our Open House at our home in Tucson. I took all three kitties to Daisy to hang out while it was going on. This is proof:

Ziggy and Taxi with me on the bed!

Zena stayed under the front passenger seat. At one point all 3 were under there:

You can see Metaxa and Zena and Ziggy is there too, although you can’t see him.

So we did great together in the rig, while the Open House went on without us. AND – drum roll please:

WE GOT A CONTRACT FOR FULL PRICE from a woman named Rae. It looks great. Closing 10 days after we move to MESA so we can come back when it is empty to clean it for the inspection.

Here is the video of our first visit in Daisy with the kitties.

Today is Sunday, January 21, 2024. We were supposed to have another open house today, but fortunately we sold it yesterday and we had cancelled it because it was supposed to be raining – and it is. So now we’re packing up stuff all day. FUN, FUN, FUN!

So this morning we have an email from Lori that the inspection of our house is on Wednesday. That is the ONLY day we can’t do it. We’re going to MESA to sign on our property that day. Isn’t that always as it is. SO they’ll need to reschedule. We can’t move our date – I don’t think. Although we COULD move it back to Tuesday do it Thursday. We’ll see how it plays out. We ended up changing our date to Thursday, January 25. All is well!

Went to Daisy with the kids again on Wednesday so they could do an inspection of our house for the new buyer, Rae. They were good again this time and Zena even explored. I made a video of them and will upload it here.

Second visit for the kitties!

So Zillow showed our house in Mesa being SOLD! We are now the proud owners of 6456 E. El Paso Street, Mesa, AZ 85205. It’s very exciting. I even ordered the blinds (temporary) from AMAZON and they are being delivered TODAY! Amazing Amazon! We’re planning to go up there tomorrow to take up a carload of stuff and to install the blinds. We’ve decided to put the temporary blinds in the Arizona room also. They are mainly for the BIG Picture window that is 8′ wide! Just amazingly BIG window!

Today is Saturday, January 27, 2023. We’ve loaded up the Jeep and we’re going to MESA for our first time in “our” new home now that it is ours! We got the blinds from Amazon and are going to work on that and also put away the “stuff” we’re bringing. We have the Blue Ox stuff and other “yard tools” in the back of the Grand Cherokee. It’s gonna be a BLAST!

We went to the house yesterday and did this:

These are paper blinds. They cost about $3 each. Got them from Amazon. If they hold, they will last until we figure out how to put blinds on this HUGE window. I’m sure you can see shadows through them at night, but it helps a little. We can open them up and clip them open during the day. GAME CHANGER! We put them on all of the windows in the Arizona Room too!

We put them in the master bedroom, but the heat of the sun caused them to fall down. We’ll come up with a better plan for that window. We’re thinking about vertical blinds now – especially for the bedroom windows because they are so small.

Marco took out the Ocotillo yesterday also. He also sprayed the entire yard for weeds so we should have everything under control for a few months. He’ll come back in about 3 months to do it again. It costs about $100 a month.

I took a video of the beginning of the removal:

Here is a picture of the final removal:

This was taken by Marco so that is why it’s a small picture. Now Daisy can park by the house. We’ll be going up again on Tuesday with another load!

This picture shows the Ocotillo completely removed and the ground smoothed.

I think taking that Ocotillo down is going to heat up the master bedroom. We may need to get other blinds for those windows. We’re looking at vertical blinds for those windows like they are in my room. We’ll keep you posted.

Today is Monday, January 29, 2024. I ordered a medicine chest for my bathroom in MESA and it’s coming today so we can take it with us tomorrow when we go back to MESA.

The woman Rae has asked us to do a few things – mainly resurface the roof. So we’re offering her money for her to do it or she can have us do it. I hope she choses the money because getting a roofer and bids is a PIA. So keep praying for us that all will be well. The biggest concern is getting the money back to Brian within 60 days so I don’t have to pay taxes on the IRA. That is a huge amount of money. Boy, things can be complicated!

Cuteness overload. We’re trying to get together. Metaxa is still a little bit of a problem. But Ziggy and Zena are SO good!

Starting this again on Thursday, February 1, 2024. We went back to MESA the other day. We fixed the blinds with push pins so they will stay up on the windows. the ones in the Arizona room stayed up great. The others not so much. We’re planning to go back on Saturday.

We have a baby prickley pear in the yard. I’m going to try to transplant it because it is too close to the house. Here is a picture of it:

We were not happy with the spraying of the weeds. They were still pretty green and fresh. So when we go up on Saturday, we are hoping that they are shriveled up. Otherwise, Marco will get a call!

Bill, Cathy and Rich went to Gila Box. Jealous – our Jeep is in the shop.

Don’t know what is wrong. It made a clicking sound without the key in it – wouldn’t start:

Today is Saturday, February 3, 2024. We’re going to MESA with another load of stuff. Jack is trying to get his 40 towed to MESA. It’s a problem because he doesn’t want it to get wet and it’s been raining ALOT recently. We think next Friday or Saturday may work. Then we move on the following Wednesday – Valentine’s Day. I’ve packed up most everything I can. We’re living in a space with no art on the walls. It’s weird. I can’t wait to move and start a new life in a new place. Seems I’ve done that a lot since I retired in 2017.

We’re waiting until it gets a little warmer and then we’ll go to DAISEE2 to pick up some key tags and leave off a couple of things that I don’t need in MESA but will keep in the rv. Next, Jack wants to go “visit” Trvaler at the shop. He’s thinking he might have a thought about what is causing the issue. Doing laundry today – not much, but still feel that I’m being productive when I do that.
