I thought I’d start a new blog today in anticipation of our move. We’ve packed up SO much and there is very little else we can pack until the last minute. So today, the kids were hanging out in the bathroom – Metaxa likes to drink out of the faucet and the other two are following along, although they haven’t been given the privilege of doing so.
You can see that Metaxa isn’t so thrilled that they are in there with her. It’s funny. She still basically ignores them, but they still try to be her friend. Time will tell whether she accepts them fully. Zena and Ziggy have become BEST friends though and are so cute together. So it doesn’t matter to me whether Taxi likes them or not. They are a wonderful addition to the family!
We’re planning to go to MESA on Friday, the 9th. It will be our last trip with “stuff” before the move. Have I told you that on Tuesday night, we’ll be staying in an empty house, sleeping on the floor in sleeping bags? That’s gonna be a trick. I’m trying to think of it as “camping”!
Tomorrow the 8th, I was supposed to go to Cattail Cove with the RVW ladies. I decided to cancel that because of the move. I sold it though so I got my money back. I also sold my Kartchner trip in March – to a woman from Canada and she needs to give me cash since she only has a Canadian bank account. I wonder if I’ll ever see that money. I do have her phone number so I can call her one day. We’re supposed to “meet up” so she can pay me. I’ll keep you posted on that one. Sue Shaw will collect the money for me and then give it to me through ZELLE. SO great!
Yesterday our plumbing was messed up. After Jack’s shower the toilets would not flush. AND water backed up in my shower. So we have a plumber coming today and may not to to MESA, but that could change because all of a sudden they started working again. I’m thinking we could have them come tomorrow (although it is going to rain and they have to go up on the roof) or Monday. Jack doesn’t want to go today. We’ll wait until Sunday now.
Well, the plumbers have been here since 11:30 and it’s now 2PM. It’s gonna cost! Anyway, they are drilling through the toilet right now and I hope this will fix it. It’s messy – I’m not going to look.

Today is Saturday, February 10th. It’s a rainy day here in Tucson. We’ve had a LOT of rain this winter. I’m just glad that there are no leaks in the roof now for our sale. We’ve set up signing of the paperwork for Tucson in MESA for the 26th at 9AM. That gets me my money before the 60 day deadline by about 10 days. That is such a blessing. We could still be sitting on this property not being sold, but IT IS! Thank you GOD! We’re going to MESA tomorrow!
Beginning this again on Monday, February 12. We went to MESA yesterday and it was a great trip. Not a lot of traffic and we made it back and forth quicker than usual. I LOVE MY NEW HOUSE! Here is a video (1 of 3) that I took yesterday. The other two follow:
Part 2:
Tomorrow is the day that the movers come and pack up the trucks and we’ll be sleeping on the floor with no furniture and 3 cats and kitty litter and kitty food and our coffee maker. Then we’ll be taking off early on Wednesday morning. I think I’ll get one more meeting in at 6AM tomorrow. Then I’ll pack up the computer – the last thing for me to pack. So today we are sitting out on the porch enjoying it for the last time. We got all 3 cats out there:
I took my last shower in Tucson this morning. I just can’t wait to get to MESA now. COME ON!

I took the Waggle to DAISEE2 and it’s working. There is just something about this house that wouldn’t let it work. ANYWAY – let me check it quickly: It isn’t working from this house – ugh! I think it will work in MESA – I’ll check it later. It’s not important right now anyway.
Took Trvaler to the gas station for a fill up in anticipation of our trip to MESA on Wednesday with the kitties and the movers:
We’re really going to miss those mountainviews. But it’s a tradeoff – DAISEE2 at home, Jack’s Car Buddies and Lost Dutchman State Park is only 28 minutes from the house. There is also a riparian area close by for hiking so it will be like Saguaro National Park being here. It’s gonna take a while to settle in, but I CAN’T WAIT!
