RV Life with DAISEE2 #80 Thursday, February 15, 2024

And our New LIFE has begun:

The moving truck arrived in MESA at 10:30 and they were gone at 1:30. Jack and I arrived at 10AM:

I love having a REAL driveway to park Trvaler! He looks SO good there. Jack parked the Grand Cherokee on the side where the 40 will go next TUESDAY! This has changed now – it’s coming on SUNDAY!

This is ZENA on our second day at the new house:

The master bedroom is much smaller than the one in Tucson, but the one in Tucson was EXTRA LARGE. We have space for everything that matters and it’s actually a lot cozier!

We went to the nicest WALMART today for our shopping:

They actually had 5 cashiers working – we didn’t need to scan ourselves. That was a nice touch!

Beginning this again on Friday, February 16, 2024. Our Cox Cable is set up and it is working beautifully. It’s the most modern modem they make and Jack’s computer won’t work – it is 15 years old afterall. Time for a new laptop. My gift to him but it will be an HP and not an Apple. New learning curve for him! Plus he needs to use his GMAIL account now rather than that q.com one he has now. Welcome to the new century Jack!

I had to reprogram the TOVALA oven so it would work here in MESA. So last night – our second in the house, we actually had a dinner:

And because of COX Cable we can now watch the final season of CSI NY:

We are using the sideboard to hold the TV. Our other TV cabinet is out in the Arizona room and we haven’t figured out how to use it yet. We may try to sell it here – it didn’t go in Tucson. It’s really a nice piece of furniture, we’re just not sure where it will fit. Maybe the laundry ROOM. Did I tell you we have a separate Laundry Room. No more closets, no more kitchens, no more garages. It’s SO COOL. And I think I’ve thought of a place for that TV cabinet. We’ll see! And the brand new washer and dryer is coming TODAY! I can’t wait to do my first load of laundry.

Going to go to my first Daily Reflections in the new house. Be back in a bit:

Boy – this internet is FAST! Very impressed! The Modem is in my room. It’s pretty cool looking.

So the cats are slowly figuring out the house. Yesterday, all 3 hung out in the bedroom. Zena on the bed, Ziggy in his little bed, and believe it our not, Metaxa in the other kitty bed. It was amazing. I got most of the kitchen stuff unpacked and there is still room for more stuff if we need it. Although this kitchen is much smaller than our Tucson kitchen, everything works. The counter is a bit cramped, but once the bar is set up on the Arizona room, we’ll move the Keurig Coffee to the corner. AND speaking of the corner – the TOVALA oven fits in the corner by the door to the garage. I think there is enough space around it without having to move it out. At least it worked fine last night.

Today is the third day in our new home. The Washer and Dryer were installed this morning. My printer is connected wirelessly to my computer and will be to Jack’s when he gets his new one. BUT we have a lot of boxes before that happens. I’m going to do laundry today as soon as the first cycle is over – it was just to run it before we wash anything. Anytime now. BUT right now look at this:

Ziggy has taken to hiding under the covers. Not sure what that is about, but I love seeing Metaxa in the window and Zena loves to chill on the bed. I think the family is coming together!

So Metaxa was doing this yesterday!

I couldn’t tell if Metaxa was just being good or if she bullied him to be under the covers, but anyway, they were like that for a couple of hours!

Today is Saturday, February 17, 2024 and it is our 4th day in the new house. We have done A LOT! We set up the front porch with the rockers. I’m buying a new one – it’s on the way. We ordered a table for the back yard like the one we have so we can have a sitting spot out on the slab with the umbrella. We also have moved a few things around in the Arizona room so we can sit out there too. My wooden chair with the spindle back is out there. It looks pretty cool. We put our kitchen table out there under the pass through and the bar is out there now. No room for it in the living room. Jack likes it out there. This is how we’ve set up the counters in the kitchen:

As you can see, the kitchen is smaller than our place in Tucson, but everything seems to fit with space to spare. Jack doesn’t like the grey cabinets, but I like them fine. We used the oven last night for the first time. The washer and dryer are connected and work great. I did two loads yesterday. The window over the sink in the kitchen is actually a pass through and the view is out the windows in the Arizona room to the park. I just love it so much. It is the coolest place. The 40 gets here on Sunday and perhaps next Thursday when we go back to Tucson to clean and get my money for the house, we’ll bring DAISEE2 back home too. I think that should work. We have until the end of the month to get her, but the fewer trips we take back to Tucson, the better.

Zena and Taxi sharing the couch looking out the big window. Taxi still hisses and growls a little at times but then she does this. Who knows what goes on in that mind!

Zena found some sun in the window this morning!

Today is Sunday, February 18th. Jack is traveling to Tucson with his buddies to pick up the 40. I’m going to go to an Art Festival with Genie. She is here until Wednesday and so I’ll get to show her the house and she can meet the kitties. She won’t meet Jack, but maybe next time. I was up at 5 this morning. I’ve closed the two kitties out of the room, but Metaxa is in here with me. I’ll be going to my meeting shortly.

I’ve discovered a new way to get on to the computer through ExpressVPN. I’ve started using OUTLOOK for my email, although it is still GMAIL. The problem with going through GOOGLE is that they are now pushing pop up ads. I hate that. Outlook pushes the emails I get, but that is okay with me. I can also open this blog from ExpressVPN. I love that!

Just got back from Mesa Marketplace with Genie. It was a gigantic flea market – like Fleamasters in Ft. Myers only closer and BIGGER! Jack is on his way back from Tucson with the 40 – I expect him in an hour or so. This market was amazing. I bought a key ring that was a whistle and a little flashlight for a set of keys to carry when I walk. I also bought a set of placemats which look cool on the diningroom table. I bought a Chocolate-Turtle Pie from a woman from Pie Town in NM who is here for the season. I bought a sun bonnet for $15:

I’ve been looking for one and couldn’t find one for less than $30 so I feel I got a BARGAIN! It has turquoise on the headband.

Here is the PIE:

Ziggy wants to eat it so I have it in the cabinet so Jack can enjoy it later!

This place had all kinds of cool things. Talevera all over the place and I looked for a lampshade. Found this one:

It may be too heavy for the lamp – we’re looking for a shade for the cactus lamp we bought at CT-RV at the Craft Show. Ziggy knocked it off the table in Tucson and broke a piece off of it. Now we have it on the bar out in the Arizona room, but I’m afraid it would be top heavy with this lampshade on it. No rush to get a shade though. Light isn’t needed out there.

Here are a couple of pictures of this unreal FLEAMARKET:

Jack has always wanted this sculpture. They have it in many sizes. I wonder if he’ll go to the Market with me. And there is more:

There are already hooks on the side of the front porch roof for this.

Talavera!

AND MORE:

So the 40 just got home:

So this is your daily dose of CUTENESS OVERLOAD:

They really know how to pose!

Genie and I went to Rudy’s Barbeque for lunch. It was great!

Today is Monday, February 19, 2024 – our 5th day in our new home. Yesterday I said it felt like home now. It’s still very new, but I’m feeling settled. I mean afterall, I went shopping with a pal here in MESA. Never did that in Benson or Tucson! SO this MUST BE RIGHT! Now that I have my sun hat, I can walk down the street and see the neighborhood. I think I’ll go down by the culvert first. I’ll carry my new key with the whistle and the flashlight I bought yesterday and listen to a pod cast on my phone while I MapMyRun (Walk in my case) but it’s a straight shot so I don’t think I’ll get lost.

Today’s Dose of SWEETNESS:

Today is Tuesday, February 20, 2024. I went to the meeting today and listened on my phone. I let all the kids out so I didn’t want to close my door on them. We need to fix the bedroom door because now it makes noise when you close it and it rattles.

I got through all of my boxes today. Much sooner than I expected – Jack kept pushing me. So anyway here is the China Cabinet:

I also did my book case:

So now that all of that is done, I can start walking and losing weight. I have no excuse now. It’s getting hotter now also. It hit 80 today. SO I better get into a routine before it gets too hot.

Thursday, I bring DAISEE2 here so we’ll be DONE with Tucson. I did love it there. Tucson is pretty great, but I’m going to be happier here with DAISEE in the side yard and Trvaler in the driveway!
