RV Life with DAISEE2 #81 Wednesday, February 21, 2024

Today, I started a new routine. I took a 1 mile walk. It took me about 1/2 hour:

I thought I would try to get into the habit of walking before it gets unbearably hot here. I probably will need to start in the dark this summer. Once the sun comes out it is JUST TOO HOT!

Here are a couple of pictures from my walk:

This is right outside our back gate to the culvert and across from the Park. This is the name of our park:

It was a beautiful morning for a walk:

Our house is the one in the middle and if you look close enough you can see Jack in the back by his office.

Then there was this: They are SO CUTE TOGETHER!

We had a beautiful sunset yesterday!

I’m beginning this again on Friday morning, 2/23/24. Yesterday was our last “moving” out of Tucson. We went back – left at 6:30 AM to get there by 9 so we could clean the house one more time while it was empty for the buyer and then we went to sign the papers and settle the sale. My money should be in my account today – I hope but at the latest on Monday. SO I’ll have my money to Brian before the deadline by 45 days! How blessed we are!

We ate lunch after the signing at our favorite Culver’s:

We got this great table – we were practically the only ones there – it was early – 11:00. ANYWAY, I remember the first time I went to Culver’s in Tucson. I was AMAZED at the mountain views. Just incredible! But besides finishing up with the house, we did this:

I drove her home! I said yesterday that we bought this house for DAISEE2! And we did. Look at how close she is to the house:

But she FITS! I LOVE IT. Here she is from my window:

I opened the blinds on this side of her and opened the window also over the bed. I’m going to go out and work on the space a little today. There are still pieces of cactus from the Ocotillo around her and they are a hazard. I also have a box of “stuff” to take out to her from the move. And let’s not forget the toilet seat! I didn’t check the leveling of her yesterday. I think she will be fine without having to level her. I’m going to plug her into the 110 outlet that is out there for the sprinkler system. I spoke with an electrician named Philip and he is going to install the 30 AMP plug for about $300. Same amount I paid John in Tucson. LIFE IS GOOD!

Here is another picture of her all tucked in:

I am happy to know that I can open the big storage door. I was afraid it wouldn’t open up, but it can.

I went for another walk today. It was good but I am SO out of shape that it is painful. I walk very slow, but I made it another mile. I’d like to get up to 5 miles a day. Let’s see how long that takes to do. I wanted a picture of the back yard with DAISEE2 in the picture:

She leans a little to the left, but I think it’s OK for now. Someday we’ll have a slab there. It will need to slope a little for drainage. When I plugged her in this morning, there was a fan running by the inverter under the bed. I put a question to the Thor Forum and I got 2 responses. It’s AOK for the fan to run. It might turn off and on, depending on how much I’m using the inverter. I’m going to go out now to see if it is still running. I’ll be back! It stopped running. I guess when we plugged it in before to the 110 in Tucson, it ran long enough for the fan to turn off so I never heard it.

Another view of the backyard from a little further away:

I took a picture of the front of the house showing all of our toys!

Look at this:

First time they all three ate snacks together!

Today is Saturday, February 24, 2024 – my mom’s birthday – Happy Heavenly Birthday Mom!

I love this picture of my mom!

I’m getting my 30 AMP connection today:

Right outside my window:

It cost me $320 with a $20 tip.

I took this picture of my cacti while I was waiting for Philip and Angel.

I went on a 3rd walk today and my hip was killing me. A couple of Aleve helped a lot:

I passed by a little kid on the corner by the park selling lemonade. I gave him a buck and said I didn’t want a drink but that was pretty cool this morning. Nice to know that happens in this neighborhood!

This was my 4th walk this morning. I felt better and my hip did not hurt. I walked a better pace too:

I also rode my bike to the Vet. It is straight down 64th to Main. Just a few miles away. So now I’m walking and riding my bike. I’m trying to lose some weight, so I’m hoping this will help. It is 81 degrees today. It’s getting warm, but in a few days it’s supposed to get chillier. I’m hoping it will be cooler for my trip in DAISEE2 to Lost Dutchman State Park.

Look how close I am. I can go at any time on Thursday, March 8th and get there on time.

I went for my 5th walk today. Almost made it 2 miles. I decided to try to walk under the powerlines. I don’t think I’ll do that again – it’s a little “sketchy”. Anyway, this was my route today:

I’ll keep adding to my distance. It’s cloudy today, so it was very pleasant walking. We’re going to go out to do some errands later today. Life is SO good here in MESA. Brian is going to get my money today to reinvest it. Now I feel really settled.

Got my medicine chest installed. Wasn’t easy but it’s great – I love the way it looks!

Zena helped!!!

I did my 6th Walk today and got past 2 miles. I also had a side trip to the Library – so I can walk there too but I’ll probably ride my bike.
