I’m starting a new blog today because yesterday there was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Pennsylvania!

Now there are all sorts of theories about what happened. Lots of questions and who knows how long the investigation will go on. The shooter was “neutralized” by the sharpshooters so we will never really know why he did it.
A lot has happened since Saturday. We are now at the 2nd Day of the Republican National Convention. Donald Trump had chosen JD Vance as his Vice Presidential pick. He is a junior senator from OHIO and has been elected for only 2 years. Definitely not a politician like Trump. I don’t like Trump “personally”, but it was a better economy under his presidency. So if JD Vance can change his mind about Trump, then I suppose I can too! I’m intrigued with JD Vance. I’ll be looking at information about him. I know he is pretty cute! Seems to be a good family man (4 kids). He met his wife (an India Indian) at Yale and she is bright also – working in a high powered job. He was a venture capitalist. He started a foundation that apparently did not funnel funds to the “cause” it was intended and funded his political campaign instead (to be determined). Anyway, time will tell!

Continuing this on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. I overslept today and missed my meeting. Oh well. Sorry about that! Anyway, I’ve been watching the RNC Convention from Milwaukee, WI. It’s pretty cool. I’d have the TV on all day with it on, but Jack wouldn’t go for it, so I’m watching it on YouTube. This morning I’m going to try to find Nikki Haley’s speech. We watch Marco Rubio last night on the iPad and also Laura Trump. Both speeches were super. I also heard Ben Carson’s speech – also amazing. So I’m a fan. I’ll vote for Trump. I know – blasphemy. My girlfriends will not like it. BUT, Biden is toast this time around. I agree that I believe costs will go down under Trump and he’ll open the pipeline again so gas will go down and we won’t rely on foreign oil. I suppose if JD Vance can change his mind about Trump, so can I. POLITICS – ugh!
So I’ve been obsessed about trying to cool down Jack’s office space. It’s HOT out there. I’ve tried all kinds of little fans and a/c units. They haven’t worked. But I got this one the other day and it seems to work OK. The only thing about it though is it doesn’t seem to charge a battery. It needs to be plugged in to work, although I thought it had a rechargeable battery. But plugging it in is not a dealbreaker.
Funny thing though, we just discovered an A/C vent in the laundry room. Neither of us saw it before. We’re hoping it will help too. So I’m going out to ride my bike with the little A/C on and see if it cools this morning after sitting around last night on the windowsill of the Arizona room. I’ll be back! It worked great! I felt some coolness, much more than just a fan blowing. So this one might be the ticket. I have another one coming from Amazon that I’ll return right away.
Last night was the 3rd night of the RNC Convention and JD Vance spoke, along with Don Jr, his daughter, and a number of others. The Gold Star families were amazing also. I’m very impressed with all of them.
My prediction is that Trump will win this year and server for 4 years and then JD Vance will run for president in 2028. He is quite a force. Found this video explaining the shooting:
