Good Morning Everyone. I hope you had a great 4th of July. I watched PBS last night and the fireworks were amazing and not too loud for Metaxa. It was just right!
I’ve been watching the condo in Florida that collapsed a couple of weeks ago. So last night they imploded it before the Tropical Storm gets there and I got a video of it. So amazing:
I guess they do this in Las Vegas all of the time to make way for new construction. WOW!
So this morning I was on my regular walk to the trash and this happened:
That is Rick and Bubba fixing the light pole near the office. These guys are really amazing keeping this place going. I’m so glad I’m living here – people are so great. These guys can do ANYTHING! Remember this?
Bubba and Dennis doing my porch!
Yesterday I went on an adventure. I wanted to get to Mount Lemmon. It’s only a little over an hour from here, but it gets up to 8,000 feet. I discovered a campground and a specific site (pull through) #50. I can reserve it so I will probably do that sometime in August when it’s SO HOT here. I’m going to drive Papa Bear there again in a few days because there is one part of the road under construction that on the way back from the mountain, was REALLY ROUGH! I thought I would break an axle and I’m sure glad I didn’t have Mama with me when I went yesterday – plus the road up the mountain is pretty steep with a lot of curves. I just want to check it out again before I commit to camping there. I discovered a Campground – Rose Canyon Campground. Site #50 is a “pull through” – the only one in the campground. This particular campground is mostly for tent camping and the RV sites are for smaller rigs like Mama – no Class A or Big 5th Wheel would ever make it. Bill and Cathy could get there with their Lance Truck Camper so maybe we’ll try it next year when they get back from Yellowstone.

I decided to take my lunch and here is Papa patiently waiting for me:

This is the “closed” campground.

Here is one of the display panels explaining the history of this area:

My new FLAG!

I sent this picture to Bill S because it reminded me of when we put it up at Shadowood. He was my “handiman” in Naples. Miss that!
I finally figured out how to add my dash cam videos to my computer so I can upload them here:
Now this time I did it, it did it another way – not the blue link, but the video instead:
SO I just saved 5 videos from my trip to ACE. I’m going to put a couple here to prove I figured out how to save the videos marked A & B. A is over the dash and B is back in the cab. So I can tell the difference. Let me get one and put it here. It takes a really long time to download them to here so I have to be patient.
It also adds a little thumbnail to the downloads:
I’ll have to get it after a bit – not there yet.
Gonna try this another way:
Finally got it downloaded! Whew!
Here is another one from my trip to ACE:
So I guess I just need to get the videos to “settle” after putting them in my media file. Learned another thing or two!
Here is another video of my trip to Mount Lemmon – on a parking pull out:
I got Mama Bear washed on Friday, July 2nd by Richard. I even bought the ladder he had – I determined it wasn’t too heavy for me to handle and it telescopes down to about 3 feet tall. I think it will fit in the storage area under the bed in Mama – to be determined:
Here is sunset from last night – just beautiful! The iPhone doesn’t do it justice, but it’s OK.

I brought Mama Bear home today. I miss her being right beside me. I got her in within 1/2 hour. So much easier without the Century Link post!
