RV Life with Mama & Papa #39 Monday, October 11, 2021.

Good morning everyone!  I did this the other day:

Perfect landing

SO PROUD!

The other day I went to Mescal where there is a Movie Set that they are fixing up for a tourist attraction.  A group of people from CT-RV planned to visit it.  So I decided to go along.  I even had a rider, Jack, with me.  It was really fun.  Our tour guide was a guy named Mark and he did a great job rehashing the details of older cowboy movies that were filmed there.  One of them was “Tombstone”.  Another was “The Quick and the Dead”.  I was thinking that it would be good to look them up on Netflix, but Jack said he had CD’s of them and said he would loan them to me.  I watched “Tombstone” the other day.  It was really good and it was fun watching the movie and remembering the buildings on the tour.  Pretty cool.  So now I’m looking forward to watching “The Quick and the Dead”.

This is a picture of Mark:

Jack paid my $10 entrance fee because I drove. That left me money to give as tips. There were a few skits along the way. They made it pretty interesting. There still needs to be a lot of work done to bring it back to its former glory, but it’s getting there. Here are a few more pictures:

Street scene from “Tombstone”

The tent in the middle of the stores is the “Opium Den” which is in “Tombstone”.  We were able to walk into some of the buildings.

I remember this in the movie.

This is an example of their skits:

Here is a couple of other pictures from Mescal:

End of the tour

I’m glad I went.  It’s another thing we can do when Susan visits here.

I went to a Flea Market in Tucson with Sue yesterday.  She drove up from Green Valley and we met to go to it.  It happens on the second Sunday of the month.  It’s pretty cool.  Lots of interesting things.  It is outside in a parking lot, but there are other things in the area such as shops and restaurants.  I did really well and only bought 1 thing:

I tried to get it for $5 but as I was leaving I decided to buy it for $8.  I’m really glad I got it.  I LOVE IT!  It is MADE for that spot.  The kitty on the side allows for the door jam to fit as it is offset.  I think I’ll go next month.  Maybe Bill and Cathy would like to go too.

Suzan and Bette took a great picture at the beach the other day.  I’m using it as their contact picture:

I started a new puzzle the other day:  It was a very colorful one of Balloons like at the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque.  I’m going to try to get the video from FB of the festival:  I gave up on the puzzle after doing the framing.  It was TOO HARD for me.  I also did another puzzle just to a point – didn’t finish it.  See above.

I had planned to go this year.  I signed up for the trip with a company and they would give us preferred parking and catered meals.  Looking at this, I’m glad I cancelled and got my money back.  I could do it myself I’m sure, but I’m not sure I’d want to do it.  A couple on YOUTUBE went there with a bunch of friends, but I think it would be too congested for me.  Here is a picture of the puzzle:

I’m working on another puzzle now.  I really like it and will probably finish it.  Missing some framing pieces I think……..time will tell:

New ROMANCE Puzzle

It’s really fun to do.  Lots of fonts and titles to put together.  I’m finding that it can really get addicting.  I can sit for hours trying to put pieces together.

Woke up to cold this morning:

It’s COLD!

I just heard that it may get below freezing tomorrow, so I’ve put my electric heater in Mama Bear.  I’ll try that undercarriage heater too.  She’ll be fine!

Susan’s birthday was October 13 so I sent her these:

The picture won’t upload.  I’ll try to make it smaller.  I’ll be back:  Can’t make it smaller – trust me, it was a beautiful purple orchid.
