Good Morning Everyone! Life is great! It is finally getting warmer in Arizona. I actually wore shorts yesterday! It was 55 degrees when I got up this morning. Bill and Cathy are leaving next Thursday for Yellowstone and I’ve seen many of my neighbors have left also.
Today is a Celebration of Life for Win Williams. He was a wonderful guy in AA in Naples and came to the Naples group often. He died back in January – oh my, I just noticed he died on the day of the Capital Breach! Anyway, this was on FB yesterday:
I need to go back to FB and find the post so I can get the ZOOM information. I’m planning to go to see how this is going to work – both in person and on ZOOM.
I put a lot of catnip in this little car seat for Metaxa. She likes it that way, but I’m not sure I’m going to let her use it yet. I keep getting advice for her to be in a carrier. But my first attempt last week when we went to get Papa Bear weighed, she got antsy about 1/2 way home. She started crying and scratching at the carrier. I’m worried that she may not get enough cool air back there when we’re driving in heat. I’m going to try it again today and see if she settles down some more. Perhaps the cat nip will help in there. I did put treats in there the last time, but maybe a little catnip will help calm her. I’m reading about other types of things to give them to calm them. More will be revealed.
So I took this picture of Metaxa yesterday as she was on “Neighborhood Watch”!
As Suzan pointed out, you can see her in the mirror. I love this kitty!
The other day on FB someone asked about where people were putting their sewer hose, since the HIKE doesn’t provide a place – I suppose the front bin was where it is supposed to go – I still can’t believe they didn’t make provisions for that. But they are still learning on the model – the 2020 HIKE didn’t have a spare tire! Anyway, this is what Bill did for me – I’m so grateful for his expertise and help:
He had the PVC pipe just “lying around” so I spray painted it black and he attached it to the EXO Skeleton. I posted the picture on FB to show the person who was asking about it.
Today’s project is to put pipe insulation on the corners of the slide out so I don’t bump my head and cut it on the sharp corner. I got the idea from one of my neighbors. I’m not sure I would ever hit the corner, but you never know. Better safe than sorry. I’ll remove them when the slide goes in. I’ll take pictures when I finish and put them here.
And:
I realized that the corners are not “that sharp”, but I thought I’d try this anyway. I don’t want to “stick” them to the corners with the tape that is on the foam and I’ll take them off when I do my “walk around” for checking the top of the slide for debris and just before I pull the slide in. They may blow off with the strong winds we have here, but I’ll see. They may be OK to stick to the metal, but I’m now sure. I’ll get Susan’s and Bill’s opinion on that.
Oh and by the way, Susan isn’t here yet. She had a bit of an emergency with Cookie (her 15 year old Cocker Spaniel). SO, she hasn’t left Denver yet, but plans to take off on Monday. It will shorten her time here, but she should still get here in time to meet Bill and Cathy before they leave.
Look what came up in Google Pictures today: This was 10 years ago:
This was my last day at work:
And this was camping at Myakka State Park with Bette & Suzan with Otis and Olivi@: Look at all that gear!
And this:
Suzan and Bette and BLU – their TAB. Love the visor!
SO look what I found in Safeway! AND on sale. I think I’ll go get 2 more 12 packs. I hope they go with this form now on!
This always reminds me of John King – he was the first to introduce me to Seltzer water and this one specifically! I’ve been using Orange Bubly when this is not available. But I’ve been having trouble finding Orange Bubly and I’ve been trying others. But this is just great. I hope they have more when I go back there today after the Win Williams Memorial.
I forgot about this from our camping trip to Myakka:
We went for a night ride and this Owl stayed long enough for us to take a picture of it. Incredible!
So today I haltered up Metaxa and we went into Mama Bear. She is still not secure here, but look how cute she is:
I think when I leave the rig, she’ll probably hang out here in her bed. It will be interesting to see how she acclimates to our new camping situation. It really is different from Daisy but eventually, I think she will be fine. Her kitty litter fits right by the toilet so we can pee together – I know TMI!!!!!
Just went to the service for Win. The sound was pretty bad. I only heard about 1/2 of it. But I feel good that I was there – even with my video off.
