Happy Easter everyone,

It’s supposed to rain today. But the weather has been so beautiful since we moved here to Mesa. I’m so happy we are here. So many things to be thankful for! Especially room for all of the toys!

I was thinking about this blog today and I realized the other day that I’ve been doing this for 10 years. It’s fun to go back and discover what I was doing 10, 9, 8 etc years ago. But I often just re-read recent blogs that remind me of what a wonderful life I have. This came up the other day:

It is a picture that was hung at New Attitudes in Naples. We even had tee shirts made of it:

I have this shirt somewhere around here. This picture was from when I was moving in to my house in Benson. I’ve had 2 moves since then, but I hope this is the last one. I should wear it often because it is SO TRUE! I DON’T KNOW!

I also came across this picture the other day:

I think I picked it up from at least 4 years ago in one of my blogs. B & C hiking in Yellowstone. They have made it to Idaho Falls where they will pick up their “summer home” and take it to YNP for 7 months. I think they just love being up there. I wouldn’t be surprised if they move closer to YNP from Arizona. Personally, I’m really happy in Arizona. I don’t ever want to be bothered by snow.

We are sad to report that we need to remove our beautiful Saguaro cactus from the front yard (see the picture above). It is really OLD – we figured at least 100 years based on the arms. BUT it could fall in a bad wind storm and hit the house or god forbid DAISEE2 or the neighbors house etc. We just don’t want to take the risk. It’s gonna cost about $800 – ouch! Not expecting THAT expense so soon. Oh well, at least we have pictures to remember it by. I feel sorry for the birds that have made their homes in it.

Here is the video of the removal of our Saguaro Cactus.

I miss it already! This is how the house looks now:

I think it will probably cause the front bedroom to heat up more now that there is no shade on that window. We may want to put an awning over that window in the future. Time will tell.

I bought a bunch of birdseed the other day and had a great time feeding the birds. Then the doves took over and it was not any fun any longer, so I threw out the bird seed and now they aren’t getting that. The rabbits ate it also. That was fun. ANYWAY, we just decided to try hummingbird feeders. Still waiting for it to be discovered, but it should be fun we hope:

There are two of them hanging from the back awning. Now we wait! Great news! We saw a hummingbird at the one on the right. Now I guess the word will get out! Can’t wait to check it out today!

I got this picture from Diana today:

I told her I do miss that beautiful beach, but not enough to move back!

WOW-there was an earthquake in Connecticut today. Dick said his building shook for half a minute! That is a LONG time plus they felt it in Manhattan and in New Jersey!

Bill and Cathy are up in Gardiner, MT waiting to get to their summer home. Here they are leaving from our house in Mesa!

Bought another water fountain for the kitties. It is SO QUIET! I put it by the food in my room. The kitties like it, Metaxa has yet to try it. We’ll see how it goes. I’ll need to monitor it because it will run 24:7.

Today is Saturday, April 6, 2024. Only 4 more days until I go camping. Come on Wednesday! Anyway, we’re ready to hit the road. On Monday, we get the “fixed” blinds installed. It will be good to have them installed so we don’t need to tie up the cords to keep the kitties from screwing with them!

I went for my 2 mile walk today and took a couple of pictures of some beautiful blooming cacti. Looks so pretty:

Took a video of Metaxa enjoying the sun spot:

Guess who?:
