RV Life with DAISEE2 #88 Thursday, April 18, 2024

We’re going to get a slab installed for DAISEE2 and we’re going to get a mailbox redone also. We’re looking for a mailbox like this: I put this on the Dreamland Villa’s FB page to see if anyone can help us locate one.

Our mailbox is not like this and Jack likes us to look like our neighbors so we’re getting this type installed by the same guy – Jerrod – who will pour our slab. The slab will be installed at the first of May. I’m hoping I can drive over it to go to Sharp Creek in May. It will be a bit early (21 days) but I’m hoping by just driving over it, it will be ok. We’re going to put DAISEE2 in the back yard when I return from Patagonia Lake in a couple of weeks. I’ll keep you posted.

This was my walk this morning:

Not quite 2 miles. I did it at 7:30 am. I’m planning to walk after my meeting at 6AM. I should be back before Jack gets up. At least that is the plan. If I wait too much longer in the day, the sun is TOO HOT already.

I went to visit with Pat Bullock today. She is 81 and has a super rig by Winnabago that is a 4X4. It can go anywhere. Here is a picture of it:

I put this in an earlier post:

It’s really cool, but it is a bit tight for me. Not a lot of room to move around in it. I think I really prefer DAISEE2 and she admired the room I have in her also. She lives in Valle del Oro. It’s like the place that Jack lived in Tucson with all of the Park Models. I remember looking for a place there at one point and not liking it all that much. Her place is nicer. I’m going to try to get some information on it:

Here is a picture of her place:

It’s fine for one person. She has a lot of little other places, like a front porch and a shed area. It does cost her $10K a year lot rent. But the amenities are huge and it looks like a resort. It was pretty impressive. Most of the people are snowbirds though and so now that it’s getting hot, there aren’t as many people there. The pool has a bar and a food outlet which looks like the resorts in Florida. She has to have a hip replacement. I’ll have to keep in touch with her about that in case there is something I can do to help her if she needs help. These are the amenities:

I’m much happier in our little house but could live there if I needed to.

I JUST heard about Marge Carrithers’ rig catching fire in her yard as she was preparing to go to Tombstone! UNBELIEVABLE! Here is a picture:

At least her rig was away from her house. Looks like she has land around her place. It worries me now about the location of DAISEE2. It would damage our house and probably the next door neighbors. I know I shouldn’t let it bother me, but I’m thinking perhaps we need to put DAISEE2 in the back yard anyway:

Here are another couple of pictures of her fire:

Found out that her rig was a 2016 Thor Chateau. I’m going to set up a time in June or July to get all of my systems checked out so that doesn’t happen to DAISEE2.

The other day I was scrolling through Facebook and ran across Zena’s Twin: Zena does the exact same thing!

A blast from the past:

Another blast from the past:

Here is a tour of my home in Naples before I left for Arizona in 2019:

Today is Tuesday, April 23, 2024. I’m leaving to go to Patagonia Lake State Park today. I’ve been there a couple of times. It’s near Nogales, close to the border. It is 4000 feet in elevation so will be cooler than Mesa. I will take Metaxa with me. She isn’t doing well right now. She is sneezing and acting a little weird. I think she has lost some weight, but it may be because Ziggy is so big, I think she is little. Anyway, I just think she is better off being with me rather than at home without me. I could be wrong, but we’ll see.

She is sitting on my lap right now as I blog:

I made it to Patagonia Lake State Park yesterday.

It is now 5:30 AM on Wednesday, April 24th. Yesterday when I got in here, I immediately dumped my black tank. It hasn’t been dumped in a while. Luckily, it was open and no one was waiting so I took my time. Next I went down to my site and there was a guy in it. So I went back to the Ranger and told him. He got on the radio and had another Ranger go tell him to leave. By this time it was 2PM and he was supposed to go by 12Noon. Anyway, he was all hooked up and didn’t look like he intended to leave. Anyway, he eventually left. I have a video of it:

So now I am completely level at my site:

All hooked up to electric and water! I love this campground. We were here at Halloween last year and it was a full moon then also. Last night this happened:

It is really cool because it comes up over the mountain. And it looks like you can touch it, it is so close!

This morning I woke up to these temperatures. It was very comfy in here last night, although I did turn on the A/C when I first got here. I suppose I’ll need to do it again for Metaxa when I leave for lunch.

It’s already 85 in MESA!!!!! No it isn’t. I checked again and it is 64 – whew!

I stopped at a rest stop yesterday about 3 hours into the drive – I only had about 1/2 hour to go, but that was an interesting 1/2 hour. My GPS took me through an interesting part of the state and over a weird skinny bridge. There would have been NO WAY 2 cars could cross at a time. I’m planning to fake it out and ask it to take me to Lost Dutchman State Park on the way home so I don’t have to stay on I 10 for so long. I don’t like driving with those big trucks. Plus this DAISEE2 doesn’t drive as well in the wind as my BF did so that is something too.

I need to get going pretty soon to clean off the bugs on DAISEE 2 before it gets too hot and the sun is on her. But first I’m going to drink a little more coffee! Bugs all cleaned off. I just put out my awning because it isn’t windy this morning. I think I’ll take my bike down soon, but I want to keep doing this until the internet disappears again. Let’s see if I can get that video uploaded of the guy vacating MY SPOT!

Here is the list of attendees at Patagonia. I know most of them:
