RV Life with DAISEE2 #90 Sunday, May 5, 2024

Good Morning Everyone. I thought I’d start a new blog since the last one got a bit long. Time for a new one. I’m stuck at home these days because Daisy is in the back yard and can’t be driven over the slab yet. Not for about 20 days now. So my trip to Sharp Creek this month had to be cancelled. But I’ll be going to Canyon Point Campground in June which is on the Mogollon Rim. It is at 7500 feet so it will be good to get out of the 100 degree temperatures that we will be experiencing at that time. In the meantime, we can take some day trips to the Regional Parks around here. I think we’ll go to one today since it is Sunday and Jack doesn’t like to do much on Sundays – it’s a day of rest afterall! Here is Daisy just patiently waiting in the back yard:

I ran her generator yesterday with the A/C on and she did GREAT! I think this rig will be wonderful for my RVing life. I feel more and more comfortable with her each time I go out.

So RV Lifestyle Community (their version of Facebook) now has 11,600 members. I joined when there were just 300. That is very exciting to watch. I’m going to my meeting, I’ll be back!

I’m back now. Our speaker did not show up but Valerie stepped up and took over the speaker part. She was good. I got a text from Suzan and Bette that they were at the Daily Reflections F2F meeting at New Attitudes. That was cool!

Down the street from us is a house that has a very messy yard. We hate that in the neighborhood. Anyway, on my walk today, this was out front:

This is great news. It means someone is going to update the place. Maybe it will be Donna Murphy who did our house. It will be fun to watch the progress.

Jack and I went on a little adventure today. I have a pass to the Regional Parks around Phoenix and I want to visit the ones that have campgrounds. San Tan – the closest beside Usery – does not have a campground so we decided to check out McDowell Mountain Regional Park. We decided to take the fancy Jeep because it hasn’t been driven in a while. BUT the pass was in the Wrangler – first mistake. Anyway we decided to try to talk them in to looking me up so we didn’t have to pay. Jack has his own idea about how to get places around here and mostly it’s fine, but when it isn’t, it’s not much fun. He doesn’t travel like I do when I go places. He needs to know where he is at all times. I never need to know that because I never know – I leave it up to the GPS – he second guesses it. SO I’m coming to the conclusion that we won’t be doing many long trips together in DAISEE2 – too stressful for me to be the navigator when he is driving. But I digress. We finally made it to McDowell Mountain Regional Park and since it is MAY now, there was no one at the gate to check us in – we could just drive through. It is much more rustic than Usery. So, it’s off the list for camping. Next I realized that our “HOME” on the fancy Jeep was Tucson. Once we got back home I tried to change that. Jack GOOGLED how to do it and it walked us through it rather than trying to read it in the manual. Even the woman who made the YouTube Video said that the manual was basically shit when it came to directions. So now that we’re NEVER moving again, we’ll be set to get home from whereever we are in the fancy Jeep. The Wrangler doesn’t have a built in GPS so not an issue.

Took a little rest on the couch and this happened:

All of the girls on the couch! This picture was taken with my iPad.

I’ve taken to re-reading my blog. Ran across this picture today:

Sure do miss all of those wonderful trees. This is Susan in Mariah and me in Mama & Papa in the UP of Michigan. It was a great trip – too long – 28 days. I’d never do that now, but I’m glad I can say I’ve done it.

I’m doing a 2 mile walk most days. Here is my route:

I have an app on my phone that tracks me – it is called Map my Run.

I discovered a guy on YouTube that does the greatest videos – wonderful photography and his narration is very cool: Here is one example – Lake Pleasant Regional Park:

Arizona Treks. He only has 86 subscribers, but I think that will change soon. He is SO great!

Here is another video from him:

Here is a video about Lost Dutchman:

Ran across this picture the other day. Jack camping with me at Kartchner in DaisyBF before we broke the awning:

Starting this again on Thursday, May 9, 2024. Today we go to look at a Corvette. Jack has been “jonesing” for another car and found a RED Corvette (not sure of the date) he can “afford”. We’re going to go look at it today. Lloyd is coming with us because he has one and knows them pretty well, plus it’s a “thing” with these guys.

Jack and Lloyd checking the new car out – the seller is the other guy.

We kind of need another garage. Our neighbor Scott across the street has only one car and Jack asked him if he would ever rent out the other half of his garage. He’s thinking about it. In the meantime, it has a cover and we’ll keep it in the driveway. So two adults in this house have 5 vehicles between us. A little overkill I think. If nothing else, we COULD sell the fancy Jeep if necessary. Once we can drive on the new slab, we can move the Wrangler over to in front of DAISEE2. Which I might want to do anyway. Pictures to come!

We went to check it out and as you can see, we made a deal. It is actually Jack’s DEAL but I love the way it looks in the garage. Here is another picture:

Jack’s Toys above. Mary’s Toy below: Some people just have too much money!

Now the JEEPS are in the driveway:

Look how pretty the wheels are:

This is the trunk – surprisingly large:

When I sat in the passenger seat, there was a LOT of leg room. This is going to be fun to ride around in. I think we’ll probably sell the Summit (Fancy Jeep) at some point. We really won’t need it and this car gets better mileage anyway. Time will tell!

So the Northern Lights are happening right now. I found this picture on FB. It’s amazing – we can try to see them again tonight from our house. I’ll try to get a picture tonight too from our perspective:

We went out last night looking for the Northern Lights. Didn’t see them. Oh well, this is a great picture!

Suzee sent this to be through FB. BEAUTIFUL!

And at Yellowstone too!

Tried to get this picture of my pistol packing brother: Can’t get it.

Finally copied it. Jack and I have a pellet gun – he wants to shoot the woodpecker that pecked a hole in the side of the house. I wouldn’t be able to do that, but I may want to learn to shoot it in case we get robbed or something – not that I’m anticipating that happening – but there is a shooting area around Usery Mountain Regional Park so once the bullets get here, we’ll try it. The gun is pretty heavy. I find it hard to believe that you can just order them on line and they come, but I guess it’s not supposed to be lethal. Who knows.

Jack wants a vanity plate for the Corvette. This is his choice:

It will look pretty cool on that RED Corvette!

Happy Mother’s Day 2024!

Another thing I ran across while going through my blog, Susan and I met in Alamosa, CO a couple of years ago and we did this:

Daisy is the shorter one on the left. It was so cool having the same rig. Such great memories!

Look at this cool picture:

Another daily dose of cuteness – during the PhotoShoot of Tucson.
