#245 Good Morning Saturday, August 29, 2015

Good Morning Everyone,

This is SO far an amazing weekend. I am at Sisters by The Sea at the Naples Grande.  I have the most beautiful room on the inside.  The view is over the roof line looking North (I believe) but I can see the Gulf if I go out on the balcony.  I never realized the balconies were so big at this hotel.  Maybe I’ve never had a room with a balcony before.  But anyway I arrived yesterday about noon and my room was ready!  That was super!  They have really done a beautiful job redecorating the rooms.  Very modern and the beds are REALLY comfortable.  Here is a picture of the big luxurious beds!

Really comfortable bed!  Slept like a baby without cat wake up call.  Although I do miss my kitties.  I am using my neighbor to feed them today.  Her name is Claudia and she has a cat of her own and seems to like my kitties a lot.  So we shall see.  Domino pooped in the bathtub the other day so I better be looking for that type of thing,  Life with cats!  When that happened I texted my “cat whisperer” Jackie to ask if I should be worried about that.  She said she has a cat that does that.  Probably didn’t want to be in the closet after Wylie did her smelly thing in there.  So he chose the solitude of the bathroom.  Just hope it doesn’t happen in March when the girls are here.  Oh well!

I have a picture of the balcony also, but I’m having trouble uploading it for some reason.  Maybe I’ll be able to upload it later.  It’s really great!  Got the picture to work:

So as conferences go, so goes the problems (opportunities).  First of all, the Friday night speaker had a family crisis so cancelled at the last minute.  Then one of the speakers went to the wrong airport and missed her flight – Really?  Wow!  I suppose if you do a lot of travelling you could be confused by that.  But who knows about that.  But it worked out also because she doesn’t speak until Sunday morning anyway.  Then Peggy E – the voice of the conference – needed to leave because her daughter was in the hospital for some reason and she needed to be with her, but she came back in time to do her “duty”.  Then Sharon A who I’ve been working with on the registration things (she is wonderful – calm, collected, efficient) her daughter went into labor and she needed to leave to become a Grandmother.  Not sure if she’ll be back at all.  So last night we did our “opening act” with the “By the Sea” dance.  It was to a “full house” and it sounded like we were a “hit”.  Here we are in our outfits:

We all dressed up in “vintage” bathing suits and danced a sweet little number that was created by our very talented Tracey who sings too!  She and Jona sang at the opening ceremony and it was really special.  Brings tears to my eyes even this morning!  WOW! Is all I can say!

So it’s 7:10 AM right now and I need to get “rolling”. More shall be revealed tomorrow.  It’s gonna be a long day today with registration opening and ending the day with the pajama party and “Grace”.

Have a beautiful day and thanks for visiting!

I’m wondering if it thrills uninterested others as it does non-participating me to be aware of and watch the development of a group of 300 women get together at a local hotel, for a “SISTER” weekend of meetings, speakers, food, swimming and games. One more outward sign of “HOW IT WORKS” or “INTO ACTION”!

All together celebrating fun, sobriety, and the GOOD LIFE! It is GRAPE to read of the joy and happiness taking place there, Mary. Thanks also for the pictorial. Referring to that last photo—As my Grandmother would have said, “There’s Mary–the only one of those three wearing “SENSIBLE” shoes!

The weekend was so fantastic there are hardly words. Even the complaints were taken in “stride”. I’ve signed up and “on” for next year. Looking forward to working with those wonderful women again!
