#300 – Good Morning Saturday, April 30, 2016

Good Morning Everyone!

Well I’m smack dab in the middle of Beaches.  It’s so glorious.  We are having so much fun and today we are actually going to go on a “trolley tour”.  I’ve never done that before.  It should be a hoot!  I’m going to go to my 8AM meeting this morning.  I’m supposed to chair so I’d like to go.  They’ll be hanging around drinking coffee and I’ll be back and then we’re going to the farmer’s market on Third Street and then over to the trolley tour.

We went to Gasparilla Island yesterday.  What a place!  The Gasparilla Inn is amazing!  We went shopping and had a super time walking around and driving around the island.  The neighborhoods were so beautiful!

So I am continuing this blog on Sunday May 1st.  Still going strong with Beaches.  We had a great day.  We started out at the Farmer’s Market on Third Street.  Ran into a number of friends, old timers from my former life, Celine Goget and her little bitty baby.  Tori Keyser and her husband – bought Key Lime Tarts from her.  Colleen and Anja.  (We’re going to go Zip Lining in Bradenton with Colleen and Anja – doesn’t that sound like fun?)  So here we are at the Farmer’s Market:

It was a great.  They have it every Saturday – 365 days a year.  But it will begin to get REALLY HOT.  More on that in a minute.  So next we went on the Trolley Tour.  What a blast that was.  I learned that when they built the railroad to Naples that ended at the Depot, they didn’t build a “turn around” so the train drove back to Fort Myers backwards.  Who knew?  So here is evidence of the Trolley Tour (Discounted to $25 with AAA membership!).

Then after the Trolley Tour we walked over to the Riverwalk and had lunch.  We sat outside right next to the water.  Found out that there is a water taxi and you can take it around Naples Bay for 40 minutes for $7.00.  So cheap!!!!!  That would be one way to get a cheap boat ride fix.  We didn’t do that.  Lunch was “ok” at the Riverwalk.  Too much dressing on the salads!

After that we took a tour of Port Royal.  It was so funny – never saw ANYONE in any of the houses.  Pretty strange really.

Next we went to the beach going down the beach access at 21st Avenue South.

After that we went to “Best of Everything” again.  What a shopping extravaganza!  Can’t get enough of it!  When we got back home we did our Gift Giving.  I don’t have a picture of the packages but I took a picture of the results of my “hands on gift”.

We all made Christmas Ornaments and one for Jenn too!  Here is the picture of all 5 Ornaments:

It really turned out to be a lot of fun.  We laughed and laughed.

Here is a picture of Heidi on the SitNCycle.  We had a lot of fun with that!

So we discovered a couple of cool things this weekend.  First of all there was “Moments”.  It is an app to send pictures back and forth to people that sets the collage of pictures to music.  Then you can keep adding to it as time goes on.  You can also get the pictures from others to put in your own pictures. That is how I got some of these pictures to the blog (the two above).

Now after taking the girls to the airport, I’ve forgotten what the other thing was that we learned.  But we didn’t stop shopping.  First it was in Gasparilla at Fresh Produce, then it was at Chicos and best of all it was at “Best of Everything”!

I don’t know how this picture was taken!  The place is packed all of the time and we went there 4 times!!  We could not get enough of it!

Well, I’m going to close now.  I’m going to try to send the link to this so the girls can see what I’ve blogged.  I just want them to know how much I love them and how important they are to me.  I love you BEACHES!
