Hello Everyone,
It’s been a while since I’ve posted in Wylie. I think a lot of it has to be that I’m trying to figure out what “retirement” is to me. I haven’t quite figured it out yet. I mostly feel that I’m “wasting” time. However, I don’t want to really work full time. I’m going to go to volunteer orientation with DAS. It may turn out that I don’t like it because I’ll want to adopt all of the animals and with 3 cats, that is really enough. As it is, I need to make provisions for them when I do go which last time (during my trip to Texas with the girls) was handled by Jeff. I think he was ok with it, but I haven’t really asked him if it was a bother. I’m planning to go to visit Bill and Cathy in September and I’ll ask him again if he is ok with it.
Since I last posted, I’ve gone on a trip to Texas with Heidi, Janet & Suzanne. We had a great time. Suzanne did a wonderful job planning our trip through Texas. It was a LOT of driving and she did it all. Texas is really spread out. The best part for me was the time we spent in Austin and visited the LBJ Library and ranch. It was great. I got a much better appreciation for him as a president. The library was really amazing. I moved my pictures to “the cloud” and need to get them off my phone for this post. I was pleasantly surprised that it only cost $500 for the 6 days of accommodations. I think she let us off easy, but it was really cool where we stayed. Great B&B’s especially the place in Fredricksburg. I’ll be back to do that later.

Tomorrow is June 10th and it is FOUNDER’S DAY – the day that is considered the beginning of AA. We’re doing a service fair in the morning and a spaghetti dinner in the evening. It’s an all day kind of thing. It’s nice to do that now that I don’t have to worry about feeling resentful that my weekend is used up like that. Now that I don’t have to go to work, I don’t mind doing this type of thing.
I am taking care of Heather & Ralph’s cats while they are away for a week. Time to go feed them before the 5:30 meeting and then I’ll be back to feed my own at 7PM. Such is the way my day goes now. Start with 8AM meeting, mess around until it’s time to go to the 5:30 meeting. Wylie is bugging me now to feed her – I think I’ll go get her a snack.
Took a nice long ride on BB today. Travelled up Santa Barbara over to Livingston and all the way to Immokkalee Road and then back again. Took about 45 minutes. It was HOT, but the breeze while riding was glorious. So happy I bought her and will keep riding until I get too arthritic in my fingers to do the clutch!
