Olivi@ & Otis RV Life #52

So today is Saturday, June 22, 2019. I am working at The Current Shop. I am here all by myself. I guess I said I would bring Suzee with me today & I forgot that. But I don’t think I’ll need her. We shall see.

Martha & Me

I’ve changed my plan for camping in August. RVing Women is/are having a rally in Lakeland. It is from the 22 – 25. The place is Sanlan RV & Golf Resort. It is over 700 acres. I called them to make my reservation & Steven told me that my site has lots of shade & it is near the bath house, so I should be all set.

I will plan to go to Ft. De Soto another time. I’ll be in Tampa the first weekend of July so on Sunday on my way back to Naples, I’ll check out Ft. De Soto and check out the camp sites. I want to be sure that there is shade where I stay!

Site 40

I hope it will be shady there. I’ll find that out when I check out the whole place on July 7th.

So I never finished this post, so I’m starting again on Tuesday, June 25th. I am up so I can go to the 8AM and chair the meeting. I was thinking yesterday about how “busy” I am now that I am retired. I was trying to pick a day so that Marisol and I could starting reading “Drop the Rock” together and the only time I have available is after church on Sundays. Monday I have Meditation, Tuesday I have the “Radio Play” and Grapevine. Wednesday I like to go to the Step Into Life at Mayflower Church on County Barn Road and also Intergroup. Thursday I have The Naples Group. Friday I like to leave it open but may start going to Comes of Age Group (possibly), and then Saturday I have the BB meeting at Naples Group. Whew! Can’t say I mind any of it, but I’d like to free up more time for camping when it gets cooler. Right now, I choose the 2nd & 3rd weeks to go camping for 3 or 4 days. I can leave Monday (or Tuesday) and then return on Friday. It is SO HOT right now in Naples. It’s been a heat index of over 115! I’ve seen the temp in my garage go up to 100. HOLY SHIT! It is so hot that I’ve been truly thinking about moving from Naples, but I think I really just need to get out of here in the summer – June to October. I think I’ll go work in Yellowstone possibly if Bill and Cathy keep going out there. They have the campground this year. I think if they do it again next summer I’ll go out and stay at their campground in Olivi@. I’ll need to have Suzee move in to take care of the kitties. That might work. She certainly needs to work, so that is one thing. Then I might be able to get someone else to do it. I really don’t want to have to pay Jackie and Laura to come by everyday! Oh well, lots of details to work out. I know I’ll miss my kitties, so maybe just a month trip will be long enough. The drive out will be 5 or 6 days. Then stay in the campground, and then back in 5 or 6 days. That might work. Something to think about.

I’ll be back. Need to leave now!

Back again. So I’m going to email Bill and Cathy to make a plan for next summer. It will probably take a year to plan anyway. We’ll see. Not sure if Cathy & Bill will be going out there again. I guess it depends on how it all turns out this year.

Bought a “float” at the artsy-thrift shop last week. Just tried it out in my pool. Want to have it for “floating” down the river when I go camping near the clear creeks in the fall. It is so hot in Florida, I thought I would try to cool off in our pool. My pool has no relief from the sun until late afternoon, so this was pretty bad. I did it for a while this morning but was a waste.

On my float but it was still HOT

The float is pretty cool. Let me go take another picture of it to show how it “stores”. It’s perfect for Olivi@!

So this is how it stores:

So this is what I’m doing now with Olivi@ in this HOT WAVE. I’m keeping the door of the garage open to let the air move out and I have the AC on in Olivi@. This is the difference:

Garage temp:

With the AC running in Olivi@:

The Humidity is low too. I just can not see letting the inside of Olivi@ get up to 100 degrees. I’m sure there are other campers that bake like that in storage, but I’m too obsessive. And since I’m home now, this can be done without much effort on my part. It’s just a game for me to play to keep me occupied. The good news is that the AC is dropping water. it is landing on my water bottle that was designed to catch oil from a car when doing an oil change. So at least that is working correctly!

Gonna sign off now! Thanks for visiting!
