Hello World,
Today is pay day! Gotta love getting a pay check every other Friday. Of course, it is spent already – mainly to pay down on my credit card debt. But it still helps a bunch! That is one of the reasons I go to work everyday, but also I do like my job and the people I serve and work with. I also know I’m appreciated. Taking 2 1/2 weeks off made me realize that,
So yesterday was settlement day at Ted’s. They gave me 2 checks for the bike and for the lost necklace. So now I have $3400 in the bank. I’m going to put most of that into my cc balance for purchasing the bike in the first place. Now I have a dilemma. I have a friend who says he will give me $1000 cash for the bike “as is”. He wants to fix it himself. I feel an obligation to Everglades as they sent the estimate and have been storing the bike for me. I need to face them and ask them if they are willing to give it back to me for my friend John or perhaps they will offer to take it “as is” also. They could make money on it and sell it. I just need to get rid of it before I get second thoughts about it.
So now additionally, Ted has a check for $100K that he is holding until details get worked out. Medicare is involved and UMR (my insurance at work) and Lee Memorial. They have to work out details. So Ted gets $30K (discount of $3K – nice of him to do that – I think because it settled so quickly) and the rest gets divvied up in other ways. The letter says I get $24K but out of that there are bills to pay but I’m not sure how all of that works. So it’s a waiting game. It seems that Ted will keep track of the bills and I’ll continue to send them to him. He thinks I should get PT so I need to call Dr. Guzman about that. I think I’ll check with HHA first to see if they have an order yet. They may have it.
So now I’m just going to be patient and let it all happen as it will. God is in charge. He must have a pretty big calculator up there! I have to say, I was surprised that the settlement came so quickly.
