Yesterday, Jack and I drove to MESA to check out some houses we are interested in buying. We are looking to get a place where we can have DAISEE2 at the house. We need a 2 car (or more) garage for his toys and all of our vehicles. ANYWAY – we did put an offer in on this house: but we decided it wasn’t for us.
But we both woke up this morning and decided it wasn’t the house for us. Julie called to say our offer was accepted, but we backed out. We’ll keep looking!
We have two more places to check out. Might go to Mesa tomorrow after Jack’s doctors appointment. But I got this picture today:

We think we can park DAISEE2 by the garage. We will need to remove a palm tree, but we can menuever around the mailbox we think.
Here is the kitchen. Same Stove and Microwave that we have here in Tucson. The countertops are some type of manmade product that looks indestructible. The tile is throughout the entire house except for indoor/outdoor carpeting in the Sunroom. The backyard is landscaped really well. We’ll have to do some work out there to keep it looking nice. The front yard has a cactus garden and rocks. Two car garage for JACK. We’re driving to Mesa tomorrow to make an offer after we see it and determine it is what it seems. Sometimes the photos make it look much better than it really is. I think our furniture will fit just fine in this new place. We’ll need to see how Jack can set up his office. Guest bath has retro avocado tile and countertop. That will be my bathroom. The masterbath has a great shower with a clear shower door. More will be revealed tomorrow and I’ll continue this then. Wish us luck!
Just wanted to add a picture of the backyard! There is one large Saguaro Cactus in the front yard and two large ones with arms in the back. Lots of cacti back there, many varieties! I’m so EXCITED!!! Julie sent us the listing from when the current owner bought it back in March 2023 for $340K and it shows the laundry room and garage. Plus, the stove, microwave and refrigerator are all new – less than a year old!
I’ve discovered that this house is smaller than our town home. I guess I’ll see how that works for us today when we get into Mesa around 11AM. I’m pretty excited about this – couldn’t sleep last night!
Ok the house we wanted would need a new roof and a new A/C. We couldn’t be sure how bad the roof repair would be and the inside of the “real” house was pretty bad. The pictures really made it look sweet, but it really wasn’t. Not to mention that back yard landscaping needed a LOT OF WORK. More than we were willing to put into it. SO……….
Enter a new place down the road – not on the market yet, totally remodeled and here is my “bad” video but you’ll be able to get an idea:
We put an offer in and are just waiting now. I am concerned that there isn’t any provision indicating that they need to finish the remodel for us to our liking. Might make this a problem. I’ll keep you posted!
So this is a view of the Superstition Mountains from the middle of the road. SO we DO have a mountain view, although not like we have here in Tucson. BUT the house has 2 great porches for us in the front and back, both covered by a carport roof so when it rains it will sound cool!
We are now the proud owners of 6456 E. El Paso, Mesa, AZ 85205! SO EXCITED! Check it out above. We’ll go back after the remodel is complete and get lot’s of pictures! MESA – HERE WE COME!

There will be white shutters so it will tone down the green color which is a little dark for our liking:

Part of the greatest reason for moving besides the fact that DAISEE2 will live beside us, is that the HOA Fee is $190 a year – that is LESS than what we pay a MONTH here. Here is a picture of our floor plan – to the best of my ability to find it – check out the PRICE!
It is the 1267 Sq. Ft. floor plan. Our property taxes are half what they are here in Tucson!
