Hello Everyone,

So I’ve decided to wait to post on my site.  This morning, I actually ran out of time because I had to set up at church.  The woman who was in charge this week had a schedule change and couldn’t make it.  So I went in and did the set up.  It is a lot for one person to do, I must admit, and I also had to set up for the “Pot Luck” today.  I made chili to take in.  But I cheated and used “canned” chili but it was much better than having me do it “from scratch”.  There are an amazing variety of flavors in canned chili and they are really tasty.  So I opened 5 cans of different chili and put them in my crock pot.  I’ve learned that I like chili with beans though.  The ones without beans are just not as good.

And I can cross Kenya off my list of “Act of Kindness” group.  Only 4 more to figure out what to do for them.  I have until the end of the year.  They are Karen (a person I worked with a few years ago, and she is a FB friend), Sheila Strenkert (Bill’s wife – I know what I’m going to do for her), Heidi Gerber (one of my “Beaches” friends) and Deb Smith – my neighbor and I don’t know what I’m going to do for those two.  I only mention this because I need to be “held accountable” for this, and by writing this down, I might make me think about it more often.  I have this list on my fridge.  Steve got me to do this on FB – thank you STEVE!

So today has turned out to be a beautiful day.  I went for a ride on Red.  It was actually a bit of “coolness” during the ride.  Now I remember why I like my motorcycle here in Florida.  When it is cooler – it is wonderful to ride.  Even when it is “HOT” it can be nice.  I can always count on October to be a great month weatherwise and a great time to ride Red.

Here is a picture of me as my one and only “selfie” you’ll ever see.  So funny!

I look like a Martian! But color coordinated!

So this afternoon I took a long nap after church.  Our “pot luck” was really good and I ate too much, but when I woke up, the weather was so nice I HAD to go for a ride.  It was great.  Next time I do this and the weather is cooperating, I’ll ride down to Marco for the PPG meeting at 5:30.  It’s a nice ride down to Marco now.  It’s a “mini” Keys trip over the Jolly Bridge.  My friends from Church went down to Key West on their motorcycles.  They have big Harleys.  I think it would be too long a trip for me and Red.  Plus there is now way I’d go on the highway.  I wonder if they went on 41.  Anyway it was a group of them.  I’m sure they are having fun.  It is for Luis’ 40th Birthday.  He tells me that when his wife Kelly rides on the back of his Harley, she can actually fall asleep.  I’m not sure I believe him.  How can she do that and not fall off?  I’d like to hear it from her and if I remember, I’m gonna ask her!

Now we are trying to locate a place for our church to meet.  It is getting “old” setting up every week and having to set up and break down every Sunday so we’re trying to buy a location that can be used by us and so we can keep set up each week.  It will be a lot of work for us to find a place and redo it.  Last week, they found a great place, and lost it by a couple of hours in the buying process.  It sounded like it would have been great.  So now we are again actively searching.  The good news is that many of our searches have brought us to “my side of town”.  North Naples is nice but out of our price range.  There have been a couple of places they have looked at and they are off Santa Barbara or GG Parkway.  The biggest hurdle is to have it zoned for a church and also have enough parking.  So more shall be revealed.

I guess that is about it for now.  I don’t think I offended anyone I need to make an amends for today.  But tomorrow morning, I’ll probably be ironing my clothes rather than “blogging”.  It’s the coolest time of the day to be in the garage to iron and I didn’t do any ironing this weekend and I’ll need to do that so I have clothes to wear to work.  Have a great night!

“Act of Kindness”–thanks for reminder. I have 1 in India,1 in Chicago and 3 in Naples. But I finally know each one’s “surprise” so it’ll be easy.. What is it always said? “Well, DO it, Steve!”. OK, between now and New Year’s Eve.

Thanks to our Program, in the quiet of late night I look back on the day just past, and immediately know if I have been unkind to another–because it won’t let me alone. On fb today I quoted Richard Rohr on what–IMO–is an important point

YOU turned me onto Rohr, and other day I’m going through a ton of old papers–most of which I must dispose. I came across a letter from my younger brother in which he described a retreat he attended, the Retreat Master was Father Richard Rohr. Letter dated 1963. WOW! Small world?

God (Good) luck on the church location, it is a responsible job of which God is in charge, even though we sometimes say, “Well…where IS God now?”

Thank God “More shall be revealed”, for, if not, we’d be in constant pickle jar (pickled?)–grin!

No blog tomorrow? So I won’t come by, wish NOW a good day for you and cats, and anyone else who reads here.
    Bye

I vote to start another if you’re inspired to write again the same day, b/c it confuses your readers to “add-on”…that is my experience. BUT MARY WILL DO WHAT SHE WANTS! (I knew you’d get one out Monday morning!)–grin……
